Julia offers a fun and friendly approach to learning music. She tailors each lesson to the individual; their personal tastes, and what they want to achieve from their lessons.

Lessons with Julia will include improvisation, composition and music theory. Julia offers the chance for pupils to study music theory up to Grade 5 level, as well as helping pupils towards GCSE or A-Level performances.

She likes to challenge her pupils in order to encourage confidence and enhance playing, and often arranges for pupils of similar standard to play in small ensembles together. She always keeps an eye out for music workshops or local events that might benefit her pupils, and encourages them to join orchestras or bands.

She has an extensive selection of repertoire, ranging from classical sonatas, to jazz standards, to modern rock ballads. She loves to play duets with her pupils, and has a great range of duet music covering all standards.
