Julia offers a fun, friendly and patient approach to learning music. She tailors each lesson to the individual; their personal tastes, and what they want to achieve from their lessons.

Julia has found that many adult learners will be very self motivated, and often come to lessons with a variety of new pieces that they would like to play, mostly favourite pop songs, tv themes or musicals. She is very happy to help pupils learn via a pupil-led approach, or is equally happy to devise a gently graded long term lesson plan around the pupil.

If you are a beginner Julia will explain musical notation at your own pace, and remember; no question is a silly question; she would rather you asked it than didn't understand something! For more advanced players Julia will help refine your technique and concentrate on adding the extra detail to turn your piece into a performance.

She has an extensive selection of repertoire, including many popular songs, ballads, jazz standards and more unusual lesser-known pieces. She loves to play duets with her pupils, and has a great range of duet music.
